A tap would be the best way. Assuming you can use the next size larger bolt for your mount the best fix would be to tap it to the next thread size up and use that size bolt.

A Heli-coil isn't the best option, but would probably work if you have to use the same size bolt as original (if only that size will fit in the mount). With a Heli-coil kit you tap the hole bigger, then install the Heli-coil threads so you can use the original bolt.
