without it you in theory should get erratic MAP readings during datalogging under boost. as its made to smooth out the MAP readings.

Ah, gotcha. The orifice that I got looks nothing like what Greddy shows, and it doesn't sit flush against the MAP sensor at all, instead it pushes the entire thing out about half an inch.
