Eventhought i HATE tein.
The higher models are coated to avoid corrosion
however BEFORE ADJUSTMENTS you have to make sure you get all the salt and grim out of the "grooves" in the shaft and should be cleaned thoughout winter

i used to use a toothbrush and "can o air"
