The SS lines should provide better abrasion protection than OE ... Good condition OE brake lines are not likely to blow or split in any normal circumstances.
SS lines are not a bad thing, they will not hurt ... but they are way down on my list of things to upgrade brake wise, pretty much the last thing I will do UNLESS the OE lines are old / damaged and need replacing anyways
