Yeah you could.
You could also find one with just the female end (my old XM came with one), but I haven't seen one in stores. You could probrably find something to modify at wal mart or something.
But like I said above, you really don't even need that piece. You can make it work with just wires and electrical tape. Dosen't look as professional, but works the same and no one will see it.
