Been a while since I last post here... well, here are some more updates to share with you guys
I installed an enlarged throttle body from a local workshop here in Singapore. Paid like S$380 (US$275) but on the one to one exchange arrangement. The workshop will take in my TB and once everything is deemed ok (after 1 week), he will go ahead and bore that TB to be sold to the market and the cycle continues.... Anyhow, here are some pictures....
The one on the left is the stock TB and the right has the butterfly and openings enlarged via machining obviously.
This dyno is basically comparing my modded ride (see the list below) before and after doing the Throttle Body replacement.
Fuel used - Ron 98
I am a sucker for torque, not necessarily horsepower.... so, with the dyno, the torque readings are not affected by the TCF settings you see on most dynos. Ignore the range before 3k rpm since my ride is automatic... look at the centre band and the gains squeezed out of the engine. I thought its pretty impressive really!
So far, the mods that I have done for the car
a. BMC (
BMC CARBON DYNAMIC ARIBOX | AIR FILTERS | AIR FILTER | car - bike - high performance - racing)
b. Semi Flow header (no brand, customised by workshop)
c. Operated muffler (no brand, muffler torn apart and customised by workshop, but still sounds good)
d. NST pulley kit
e. Unichip Q piggy back(see my other thread on this)
f. Sprintbooster (this kill the lag on low end, didnt increase torque or hp)
g. Voltage Stabiliser (I think I wasted my $$ on this, cant feel shit)
e. NGK Iridium spark plugs (I am not sure on this..... again, cant feel anything)
I would recommend the above mods (Item a~f) to all the R18 owners out there. Of course, if you have the extra moolah.. would be great to get proper catback system instead of bastardising the stock exhaust.... I like to remind that this is done in Singapore... so, you would have to do your own sourcing for all these. Happy modding!!!
