yeah i guess it's a comparison of how well you can install it yourself versus how drunk your installer was the night before.
re: LOC convertors; i don't know what the good brands are, i am sure you can google it to find out. BUT, here's another thought: the last time i did this, i just bought an amp that took line level inputs. it was an xtant amp, and its RCA inputs can actually take high level inputs... so i just got these RCA cables, cut them, spliced them into my rear speaker wires... done. and saved on RCA cables + loc's too.
