Although I can see the value in the peace of mind if they screw something up trade-off. The extra coin relieves you of a lot of work and a little risk.. If you blow up your car during the install.. It's your dime to fix it. (Holy cow.. am I seriously endorsing the possibility of actually using a local 12V shop??!?! Oh my!! I have to get over to DIYMA pronto!)
