Think about it. If it wasnt important they could shorten EACH owners manual by 2 pages multiplied by the number of owners manuals printed multiplied by the number of years.

IF they did this from say 1960 i bet they would have saved millions of dollars just not printing those 2 pages, not to mention all the repairs $$ they could make off engines blowing up/breaking earlier then expected because they werent properly broken in.

INSTRUCTIONS ARE MEANT TO BE FOLLOWED, THATS WHY THEY ARE THERE..

all you people that dont like following directions, next time you have a headache take 20 advil instead of the recommened dose. Because what does the person that MAKES the product know about it besides EVERYTHING!
