Sure you might have gotten 29mpg on one tank in good weather - down hill. But I doubt you've kept track of every tank of fuel. If you are getting 29mpg then your not using the power of the k20 and not much reason to talk about how quick your car is if you never use it.
i have put exactly 10 tanks of gas in my car since new, and the total mileage over those tanks is 29.45mpg...

i know how and when to use my car for fun... i'm in cruise at 65mph to and from work and i kick it up for fun every once in a while...

like i said in another post, using cruise to and from san fran, i averaged 34mpg over a 3200 mile road trip... its all in how you drive it... am i going to get 41mpg? no. do i care? no. if i did, i would still drive my wife's saab...

i said it before and will reiterate here:

this debate is pointless... the r18 is designed for one purpose and the si for another... comparing the two and saying that one is better because of gas mileage or the other is better because of horsepower is going to get everyone nowhere...
