I still wish I had an Si now but the point I'm trying to make is that the one area the R18 far superior to the Si is fuel economy, both that it requires cheaper fuel and that it uses less of it.

You should also think before you start talking down to R18 owners and bragging about how your car performs better, looks cooler, has more stuff, has a better engine, has "real" VTEC, ect. What you don't realize is that the vast majority of R18 owners on this forum don't drive Si because they couldn't afford it, not because they didn't want it. So just because you are lucky enough to have an Si doesn't give you the right to talk down to those of us who aren't.

BTW, your corvette argument, you do realize that the LS3 corvette's base price is around $46,000, the Z06 is $70,000. So for $24,000 you get 70 more horsepower, slightly bigger brakes with fixed calipers, wider tires and a harsher suspension. Would you rather have all that or 24 grand in the bank?
well somebody put their big boy pants on this morning...

i'll address the points separately:

r18 = far superior gas mileage

whatever you say chief. like i said, 3 mpg on average, even with regular gas is far from superior performance... i drove to san fran from dallas and back with my last si, and we got 34 over the whole trip... its all about how you drive.

me 'bragging' about having a superior car

use your mad phat interweb skillz to check out my first post on this thread... i simply made a statement refuting the claims of r18s being superior to si's because of the gas mileage, etc... i havent talked down to anyone, aside from you since you obviously don't know how to make relevant comparisons... most of those things you mentioned haven't even been addressed by me.

the vette argument

i, and i think i speak for most here, would rather have the z06... those who can drop 72k on the z06 aren't looking at the 24k difference, just as i wasn't looking at the price difference on civics, because the si was the only acceptable car for me.... my point is that most vette owners, and this probably has to do with age, can step back from their egos and bow out to a superior car without making asinine comparisons of gas mileage when it has nothing to do with the conversation of performance...
