yes, you get better gas mileage on cheaper fuel. i have a more powerful car that gets just a few mpg less.

i never said my si is 'crazy fast', so i don't know where you got that from, but i will say that i don't care about 0-60 times... i'm into auto-x and road racing, and the si covers well more than 1.2 seconds better on road courses than your r18...

the problem with this debate is that those with r18s are going to justify their decisions in any way possible, which is fine by me... the problem is that what should be happening is that you should enjoy your car, as i enjoy mine.... understand that the si was made as a superior car in every performance dimension imaginable, and that's just how it is.

i bet if you go to a vette forum you don't have base owners saying how much better their cars are to the z06 owners...
I never said the R18 was better than the Si, and I wasn't trying to justify my "choice". I didn't want my LX when I got it, I wanted an Si, but unfortunatly they cost too much to buy (every dealership in town was charging at least $3000 over sticker for the Si, and $1000 over sticker for the LX/EX), and they cost too much to insure (in case you didn't notice I'm only 18). I still wish I had an Si now but the point I'm trying to make is that the one area the R18 far superior to the Si is fuel economy, both that it requires cheaper fuel and that it uses less of it.

You should also think before you start talking down to R18 owners and bragging about how your car performs better, looks cooler, has more stuff, has a better engine, has "real" VTEC, ect. What you don't realize is that the vast majority of R18 owners on this forum don't drive Si because they couldn't afford it, not because they didn't want it. So just because you are lucky enough to have an Si doesn't give you the right to talk down to those of us who aren't.

BTW, your corvette argument, you do realize that the LS3 corvette's base price is around $46,000, the Z06 is $70,000. So for $24,000 you get 70 more horsepower, slightly bigger brakes with fixed calipers, wider tires and a harsher suspension. Would you rather have all that or 24 grand in the bank?
