But is it really safe to use Simple Green on the car's paint? And if so what's the best way to use it?
In addition, since my car is brand new, should I use Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner? Does it diminish the paint, ie is it abraisive enough to strip the paint? I'd like to use it conidering the 4 months of neglect?
Thanks.

Get either some Mother's claybar or Meguiar's claybar. Spray the detailing spray liberally on each panel as well as the clay. You should be able to get the paint finish smooth and clean.
If you have any minor scratches or swirls, use the Deep Crystal cleaner wax. Try the claybar before you try anything else. If you still are not satisfied with how it looks, post up and Rasky or I can give your further advice.
