thats BS from the manager. You shouldve never told him about what happened otherwise they'd be found liable for the whole situation. They keep track of items they shipped for up to a year, tracking number for up to 3 months and insurance to up to a month. That's how the main supervisor will keep track of the money. Otherwise, they would steal money away from usps cashier. But since you told them the package was lost, they won't give you any details. Otherwise, they will have to pay for mishandling of packages at their location and fine the individuals/usps facility. Obviously, they pull crap like this when people pay cash since they won't have proof of reciept in case they threw away the reciept. You just got to tell them you need the reciept reprinted for business purposes.
