I was in court the other day for '51 in a 30 zone'. There was a representative for the officer there in his defense. It too all of 20 seconds to get dismissed. The officer had failed to check a box to specify whether he had 'estimated' my speed, but had written that I was doing 51. As soon as the Magistrate heard that, it was end game for the PD. IMO it's worth fighting a ticket as long as there appear to be mistakes on the ticket itself. If you're really guilty and it's a big ticket, get a lawyer, preferably one that's close to the court where you're due and one that primarily deals with traffic offenses, they tend to know the Judges and that will give you a better chance. If the ticket happened further away... You can request that the hearing be held closer to you, chances that the officer will not appear and the issue will be dropped.... Also, it can be worth heading over to the PD that issued the ticket and asking for Radar Calibration records (only applies if you were radar'd). GL
