If it is an auto then you are fine. The auto won't let you downshift to a low enough gear to damage your engine, it's "smart".

Its Honda Civic 2.0 i-vtech with K20Z engine... i dont think its a Si version.. surprising, they only have the automatic transmission for this model... one thing u must know is that, though its comes with an auto transmission, we still have the paddle shift at the steering wheel.. sumthing like triptronic... allowing me to get control of the gear shifting.. so, my question, while my gear at the S position which allow me to control the gear shifting with the paddle shift, i have rev it up to 8000rpm without noticing that im at the S position... basically the gear doesnt chage to 2nd gear... it stays at 1st gear up to 80KMh.. will it effect my engine or even my gear box?..
