Glad to know that I'm not the only one that is trying to do this. I have a 2008 Civic LX that is a company car and has a fixed intermittent wiper. After owning several Toyota's that are pre-wired for intermittent wipers (just a matter of switching out the switch), I was pissed when I found out yesterday that mt ordering of a switch from an EX was worthless. I tore apart both the switches today and noted that it looks like the EX requires an extra wire on the harness that connects to the switch.

Then I looked at the connector going into the wiper motor. You can see it by taking off the passenger side cap to access the strut tower and peeking in there...there's only three wires going to it, and they are 12 or 10 gauge.

So with that said, I believe that if you can connect the wire to the extra active connector on the back of the intermittent switch to the fuse box/control unit thing, then the intermittent feature will work. I did test and made sure that the intermittent switch does work just like any other adjustable intermittent feature...works by varying the resistance...
