Just use the DMM and get it to the right amount of volts at about 3/4 volume.
Remember tho, all settings (bass boost and such) should be turned down to zero. If possible, use a test tone cd to play a tone within the subs frequency. Somthing less then say 65 hertz.
After thats set, if it seems like theres too much bass then turn the gain down to match the rest of the sound stage.
Some people like more bass then others so only you know whats right.
