My HCH II has only 2500 miles on it and the fuel efficiency gets better with every tank, I presume as the engine breaks in and the already-LRR tires lose whatever extra grip they had when they were brand new, not to mention small refinements in my hypermiling techniques. Is your vehicle still somewhat new and possibly still breaking in?

I spoke to the supplier about it, and was assured that there is no such possibility of letting more particulate matter into my engine, only better air flow
My HCH II now has 36.000 Kms, and at the beginning up to 5.000 Kms, my fuel efficiency was +/- 6 liters for 100 kms, after that fuel efficiency gets better ( 5.6 liters for 100 kms ) until reach 30.000 kms, but then bought this K&N filter, and now my fuel efficiency down between 5.0 to 5.1 liters for 100 kms.
I am very pleased with the filter, because here in Portugal, the gas is very expensive, 1.45 euros per litre, more or less $2.32 per litre, and the tendency is to increase more
