Hmmm.... Well, I ran consistent 14.5 - 14.6 STOCK, with 14.4 being my best. I ran at 2 different track and the times were consistent. Tracks are: Infineon Raceway & Sacramento Raceway. If my STOCK car is faster than your MOD car, then it must be the elevation. I don't know, I've beat many rsx-s(with mods) and Si(with mods) when I was stock. I've seen Si's barely breaking into 14s, leaving me scratching my head saying "it is really that hard to run 14s ??"
I guess it's just location then...I know I'm not a bad driver...I've drag raced many times at this track. I guess locations like yours and people that I see get the same numbers as you over in NJ must be perfect temps and zero humidity? It is pretty humid here. I don't think it's possible for us to get the times you guys get. Best time I got that was close to that was with my EP3 when I had the k20a2, kpro, i/h/e and hit a 14.1 with a 101mph...but it was damn cold that day.

Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong while shifting. I feel like I have to leave the gas down as I shift...if I don't, it usually has that drive by wire hesitation between 2nd and 3rd if I don't do that.
