HFP springs have firmer rates than most other springs, and they have thicker coils which makes them stronger. They are also the only springs that have a damper valved for them (besides full coil overs). So to answer your question yes it does tighten up the suspension somewhat dramatically. If you are set on lowering more than .8 inches then wait until after market shocks besides Tokiko's (OEM replacements) are available and matte up a lowering spring with them. Also HFP is only covered under warranty if Honda installs it for a billion dollars.
