Around where I live cops have everything from undercover trucks, jeeps, camero's, and transportation authority now have chargers. So you never know what kinda of undercover your going to fly bye. I am good at picking out undercover cars (used to work for the police dept.) but if your doing 90 sometime you will not notice and fly bye them. Then you screwed. Because they dont have to have you on radar, they will just write you for wreckless. As far as laser goes. If the cop has a good spot and is pretty experienced with laser by the time your detector goes off you already caught. Smart cops will put their radar on hold (so it doesn't emit radar signal) and right when they see someone traveling balls to the wall they will take it off, bang your done because your detector goes off but they got your speed by the time you slow down. Now if a cop is doing stationary radar and hitting ever car that comes by them, then they work good because they can pick up the signal before you even get close. If the cops is smart and has been doing the job a while they can catch you. I got rid of my radar detector. I didn't have one for three years and was fine. Two months after getting one I got my first ticket, one month later ticket number two. Never bought another. But good DIY write up.
