Usually it is someone trying to impress people with how much they Don't Know.
AMSOIL MTF is the recommended Gear Oil for the Si... Unless you are putting out more than about 250 Lb Ft of Torque or racing regularly.
In such a case, I would recommend the MTG ...
The only difference, besides additives, is the MTF is about a 70W-80 and the MTG is a 75W-90... They cannot be mixed....
