To test this turn on your head lights and increase the brightness of the dash using the controls to the left of the steering wheel. if you increase them all the way to maximum while the lights are on. It will put the dash lights in a "parade mode" where they are full brightness even with the lights on. now turn the head lights on and off. The dash shouldnt dim at all. If after this it still dims i would say its a problem
