The light blue wire w/ silver strip on the harness left dangling is the amp turn on wire. I found this out the hard way after giving 12V to the wrong wire...which ended up being a front speaker wire. Afterwards, the front channels do NOT work and I'm assuming I fried the front channels of the factory amp.

PLEASE test-everything before making connections!!! The rears sound ok though haha

I have a nice Alpine 40x4 channel amp to put in and I will re-use the crutchfield OEM amp bypass harness to install it and utilize the factory speaker wiring.
how did you do that? i'm not trying to say anything on you knowledge on this, but before power was even hooked up to the unit you should have realized that you had 2 wires going to the same wire.

maybe i'm not understanding what you did but it sounds like you did this:
from aftermarket radio-amp turn on wire ( always blue to me)
then you hooked that wire up to the Right Rear = Blue(should have tapped it into the light blue one)
but if that was case your rca cables are plugged in backwards and should have blown your rear channel....
so is what i am describing what you did?
and is there two diffrent plugs one that the metra plus into and the other that usually isnt used but you only tap one wire into it(the amp turn on to that one blue wire) or is it all in the same harness?

im just woundering cause im about to install nav on my car and dont want to do what you did or if i did i would throw my stock unit back in and bring it in for service and say it just went out.
