a Dual Core Celeron and an 8600GT ($100) will be fine.
Play crysis with the min specs then respond =]. It wouldnt even be enjoyable with min specs. Crysis is one game where the graphics are part of the over all game play. You can play, say COD4 with everything on low and still come away claiming it was awsome, with crysis you'd like miss 90% of the over all experience.

For example, one of the highlights of the game (imo) was the tank fighting through the fields, and while you are fighting you are looking at the single most greatest looking scene/vista in any game, and the vista/scene isnt static. A mountain is falling apart with an alien bunker slowly breaking through a huge mountain that is taking up 80% of the sky line, men in the distance are shooting RPGs at you, you are blasting at tanks and your blast knocks over trees and kicks up mass amounts of dirt.

and why am i argue with some guy i dont know about single player games (somethign i dont usually do) ? Sure i have a dork in me, but usually not this dorky.

Needless to say to get back on topic, there is no lack of great PC games.
