You could get away with a shorter hose, I say 21" without rub or crimp.

I touch the battery case, but nothing too important.

Made 13 passes @ cayuga on the 29th. With Hondata I.M.G. & T.B.B. intake was cool to the touch, one of my best passes was near the end of the day.
