If you wanna stick with halogen for a while, you could always try Sylvania SilverStar Ultras:

OSRAM SYLVANIA - SilverStar

I had a pair of SilverStar bulbs in my last car, they worked great. I'm probably going to get SilverStar Ultras for my Si soon to hold me over until I can buy a decent set of HIDs. They're really bright, and the colored glass it uses doesn't sacrifice brightness, like a lot of aftermarket bulbs.
