Are you wanting to clean the inner part of it? If so it's best to take it off. Otherwise, the brush will just depend on what type of wheel you have since the spokes are different. I don't have a lot of space to fit any kind of brush in there so mine would have to come off if I wanted the clean the back part of them. If it's just an OEM Si wheel then it shouldn't be too hard to just use a towel and get back there.
