KoniMan,
Well I do not know about Autozone Rotor's in particular ... but I have seen some pretty crappy "no-name", re-badged, and store brand rotors in my time ... and I have seen these trashed pretty quickly at the track.
I would not be surprised that a large persentage of the rotors are made in the same foundry in China/Taiwan/?? ...I do know that the Brembo's/Zimmerman and related rotors I buy are still made in Germany.
For street driving ... use what ever you like, you are not likely to damage stress it to much.
I can get OE replacement Brembo (Plain not drilled/slotted etc) for less than Honda /Acura OE and not much more than what I pay for Store Brand rotor's
For something that is as important as Brakes ...I will personally NOT scrimp or risk it.
As for the other Big dollar rotors from other manufacturers, I agree they are a waste of money in general. It is only at the highest levels (Pro Race) that a Big $$$ rotor like a full floating multi-piece is required.
My point is that one should use a good quality rotor ... I singled out Brembo in particular as it what I can source easily in Canada ... but there are other brands that are also of similar quality ...
