Um, first of all, I started a thread that has over 38 pages in it. People are taking this seriously. This is cold, hard science that cowl induction provides the best place for ram air.
Secondly the company is Japanese, so they may or may not respond accordingly. The hole is obviously engineered into the airbox, but for what reason, I am not sure. I was kind of hoping the OP could help us out.
