LOL, Well I wax every other time I wash but I'm OCD. :)
It will depend on the elements your car is subject too. I'd say once every other month but I personally would not go that long. If you park outside and live in a sunny state or the Snow Belt I do it more often. Cars simply look better with a coat of wax after washing, even if you just waxed it a week prior. At the very least I use a detail spray after I wash.
