Well, I've been in the Navy on and off for 12 years. Through out all the turmoil our nation has faced, I had yet to see anyone I know fall as a casualty. That was until now.
I just found out that a friend from my days in Italy successfully completed B.U.D.s training and went on to become a SeAL. We worked together in Sigonella and he was a blast. We lost touch but I never forgot him. Always fun loving and always respectful of everyone. He truely was a good friend to have. He went through B.U.D.s once and didn't complete it. I'm happy for him that he made it the second time around. Not a simple task and not a common one either, returning and completing that is. Anyway, I don't have anyone to talk to about it right now and I just wanted to vent. The picture at the bottom is a typical Monsoor Moment. :)
PO2 Michael Monsoor, you will be missed and you will still be loved by all those who knew you. Rest in Peace.
