You don't need cross drilled or alostted rotors for track days. Perfect example, look at the civic si race car that raced in the 24 hour thunderhill. As Anthony mentioned, crossdrilled and slotted reduce the maximum contact that the pads enjoy on the rotors. The brake system on the si is well ventilated, so all you really need is good race pads, high temp brake fluid and stainless steel brake lines.
