well I haven't done any sort of scientific testing or gotten intake temps... however, and I know this may not exactly prove anything, but, before, if I drove from work to home (20 minutes) and popped the hood I would scald my hand if I attempted to touch the pipe. I could not bare to leave my hands on it. After powdercoating, I have driven for hours on end, and when I get out I can hold both hands on the intake and it's just kinda warm. not hot by any means.
I don't know what this means if it's working to reject heat, or if it's insulating heat (like the pipe below the paint could still be hot?).... like I said, I can't say for sure. all I know is I used to not be able to touch it, and now it's not a problem, ever. it doesn't get hot to the touch.
