-Suspension has no effect on what BBK you can use ..rim choice does

-It all depends if the particular rims size, design, and offset will work with the Specific BBK you choose ... EACH different kit has different measurements and requirements for rim fitment. The "Good" ones provide a template you can cut-out and "test-fit" with your rims to see if they will fit without hitting the hub or spokes.

A BBK that fits on with a particular 17" rim may not work with another 17" rim


So - just upgraded pads / rotors would be safest ... unless you want to reasearch if the particular kit you are interested in works with the particular rims you have.
