Everything apart from the desktop and laptop will be connected via gigabit ethernet ports unless i run out of ports.

The network will be N1 though.

What is the best N router out there?
I had one of the new belkin N vision and wasn't satisfied with it at all as it was having serious compatibility issues with my laptop even if i was using the belkin wireless card designed for it or not ... just when i thought i figured out the problem if acted up again. not even the geek squad could rectify it.
So again what's the best N router according to experience or reviews?

what are the advantages of using gaming routers?
I always thought they weren't necessary but am i wrong?
My ps3 + xbox360 are connected via gigabit ports ... would it benefit to have a gaming router?

i'm seriously eying the 1TB time capsule. Seems like a good all in one device.
i don't think i'll ever need more than 1TB of memory unless i decide to start saving blu rays/dvds to my hard drive(doesn't sound like a bad idea).

this is what i think will happen. Please tell me if it's good thinking/planning.

-imac desktop as described, though not set in stone (wireless connection)
-current pc laptop (wireless connection)
-comcast cable(currently the fastest option is south florida) pushing a "N" router (let me know if gaming router is better)
-router may be the 1TB time capsule (unless i'm recommended a better solution)
-attached to the router will be a ps3, xbox360, apple tv (just cuz i like to have gadgets lol)- thinking about attaching a usb external to the apple tv for even more storage if i decide to save dvds to it or just to have more options.

if i'm not going to be using the 1TB time capsule then i'm guessing it will be a regular gaming/non gaming router which means all the above will be connected to it but then i'll need another storage device.

windows home server seems good. been looking at it for some time now. would make everything very simple. Is it compatible with macs though?
I don't think it is cuz i can't find any info. that says it is. everything seems to mention PC this or that. I don't see why i shouldn't be as it's just basically a storage/streaming device. Just need to be sure before i go spending.

so u know the hardware stuff
imac, pc laptop, ps3, xbox360, apple tv
need best "n" router for the above + networking streaming/storage solution.

build me a couple systems/solutions/options.

PS: i'm pretty tech savy, i'm just not interested in building my own pc as it's not going to be that seriously worked/used. Haven't been keeping up with the "best" stuff electronic wise lately either so i'm kinda out of the loop right now atleast where networking is concerned.

I NEED OPTIONS!!!
