do this first:
theres a DIY somewhere, but im too lazy to look for it.
and assuming your trying to remove the "boomerang" part?
tools-
#4 or 5 allen wrench
phillips screwdriver 1/4in?
flathead screw driver.
1- pop hood
2- look at the top of the radiator cover, there's
2 cap thingys that u have to wedge a flathead under and gently pry up. WIth the middle popped up, just tug upwards and itll come out. CAreful- dont burn yourself.
3- there should be 2 domish looking caps off to the sides, where the it holds the radiator cover to the sides. The only way i can describe these SOB's is that they have flexible plastic teeth grooves. and are about inch and a half long. You Pullem out, and chances are they wont be re-usable anyways. U can try to pull these out, but in my efforts i could not, so i just cut them. Bought some at the dealership. Or you dont really have to replacem at all..
4- Lift up hood handle, and slide off the radiator cover, this may require soem jiggling at the sides.
5- next there are 2 black bolts that can be removed with a hex key. relatively simple. now, if you noticed the entire back grille ( the black part ) and the bumper is actually one piece.
6- with the hex botls removed, u can now "fold" the grille to the front. If you look Behind the grille, u will see NUMEROUS screw/bolts holdin teh grille to the bumper. Remove each one, try not to burn self on radiator. on my LX, they were bolts, and i needed to use a freakin wrench to get those nuts off. I think on the Si it may not be bolts but screws, *shrug* same concept, different tools. Im sure youll figure it out.
7- once all bolts/screw/nuts are off, there are 4 little "clips" that hold the grille to the bumper, gently try to urge these, but most likely they will break, with little to no force at all.
8- then just pull outwards( towards the front of the car ), and the grille will come off.
im tired of typing so if you need to know how to remove the emblem, just search for it..
