Well there's a reason they call it "clear". =)
Usually all you can see is the line from where it stops. If it bugs you that much, get the whole hood done. Either way, a line looks a lot better than rock chips, bug damage, and sand blasting. Obviously it looks much better than metal ladders and tires too!
This is exactly why my rep always tells me to be sure to call it "Paint Protection Film", because he said it hasn't happened yet but one day someone is going to sue someone because they were offended by "clear bra".

Lastly, stick with a good brand. If you've never heard of it before, chances are you don't want it. Here's a pic of XPEL's new film, 3M, and a generic brand. If you look at the reflection of the light you can see the orange peel difference.
