do salesman realize that if they knew all the technical shit about what they were selling they would sell more? do you know how many people would buy it just because he said something technical? i dont understand the logic of not knowing the product you are selling.. when an old lady comes in, you sell the civic as if its luxurious and safe, but when a kid comes in, you start spitting out track times, engine, etc.. i wonder what % of cars sold in the usa are sold mainly due to the convincing of the salesman (as opposed to the car selling itself, internet research, etc).. sounds like its about 9%

well i learned something new, and now that i think about it, it makes sense that old cars sell for more, because old cars have so many variables to determine the price, but with new cars, the dealer cant say "ya but that car has 3000 more miles, thats why its that much cheaper"

when you say 50+, surely your not talking years? you think the civic and corolla last 50+ years? i assure you no car will last that long (watch, somebody will give some extremely rare example like "my grampa still has a 1956 blah blah blah")

my friend has an 07 corolla s (is there a difference between "type-s" and "s"?) and it has 140 hp and he says its slow.. he claims it has ivtec and that its an "ss".. i said dude ive seen your car, ive ridden in it, what are you talking about? hes like let me go check (we are talking online) and he comes back and is like yup it says ivtec and its an ss.. he was so serious too

the 21 year old salesman first honda dealer i went to (valley honda) said that even tho i dont know how to drive a stick, i can still test drive it, but i need my license.. i went to the dmv and got my license (i got a dui and the state still hasnt given me my physical license back so i just went to the dmv and got a copy) and came back and he was busy with a customer so this other dude helps me and hes like "youve never driven stick? hold on.." and he and this lady tell me i cant, especially not at night, and i was like wtf..
