actually, cadillac pioneered the cylinder management concept all the way back before quite a few of us were born (1981 or so). The original cadillac engine could shut off 2 or 4 cylinders in an attempt to save fuel. It was almost a complete failure.
Current cadillacs, as far as I know, do not have this feature.
Honda recently introduced it on top of the line (EX-L, Touring) versions of the Odyssey as well as 2WD versions of the pilot and in the V6 models of the Accord. The Hybrid Civic also has the cylinder deactivation capability, with the 8th gen being able to get down to just 1 cylinder firing at highway cruise speeds if I remember correctly.
Honda's system yields slightly better economy in the odyssey when equipped.
