you used the right 'blue wire', however i had a similar problem but didn't use the rca deal like you all have been doing. i used the metra harness. The one thing no one mentions when you aren't getting sound is that you are still running through the factory amp. This lack of sound is caused by the amp not being turned on. I had the problem and had to find which wire was the amp turn on lead, real simple just check all of them and you'll find it, then i just gave it power (tapped it into the 'blue wire') along with the HU.
