I ran into the same problem with the fx until i knew that by cutting the top part of the projector, output is not molested. So, after cutting the top notch, it fits good.
G35 projectors are different.
These are what these look like. g35 on the far right and right behind it is an fx35. Sorry for not having a better picture but i got rid of those projectors a long time ago.
