i am currently on my third HU and i'm finally pleased. I first used an alpine CDA-9885, which was a nice unit but then complete crap if you ever wanted to use the pre-outs. they were absolutely terrible. i then moved on to a kenwood and i can't remember the name off hand but i liked it somewhat but it was not bright enough and there was no way to adjust the brightness. so i then moved on to a JVC KD-AR880 and i liked it somewhat but i had bought the Harmon Kardon Guide and Drive navi and was not please so i took that back and then purchased the avic D3 and i love it. i also first started running an Interfire 700w amp to an Arc Audio Chip Foose Series 12" woofer. i'm still getting a lot of white noise and the volume levels are ridiculous. i just had a buddy lend me 2 JL audio 12w6's with a Phoenix Gold MS2250 amp and an Audio Control 2XS crossover that hits so hard but i've only been able to go up to about level 10 on my HU, will this way of wiring the harness help me??
