That sequence is how I did mine so must be ok there. Probably my leak occurred from not going back over them a second time which I did after finding that leak. I'm just paranoid that somehow the pressure from the bolts isn't distributed as well to create a tight seal around the coolant passages. It's all in my head I'm sure. Did you add any gasket sealer for your installation?
