Bud, there are two air filters in the STOCK system now, fact. The cold air box in your bumper has a filter in it, draws air in, then plumbs it up to the engine air box, which has a filter in it - I disconnected it all myself when I installed my SRI, so I know this is the case. What is the point of having this system if not to draw a lower median temperature using air from the bumper air box and the engine air box? Am I missing something here? It wouldn't surprise me, just clear it up if I am.
I do see what you're saying about the icebox, but can the icebox produce the same gains as even an SRI system alone with heat soak. Maybe? Maybe not? We don't know because it's not out yet, so we'll have to see.
Either way, I was just saying that there must be an engineer out there who could combine the CAI and SRI aftermarket air intake models into one combination model, which would produce a median cooler air temperature by allowing air to flow from down in the bumper, unrestricted, and combine it with the engine air box, unrestricted. This Icebox seems to ONLY deal with the upper engine air box, which is only half the battle, in my opinion.
