hood spacers go on at the hinges where the hinge connects to the hood. It basically raises the back of your hood up so air can escape, by about an inch.

i think the hood spacers would decrease Fuel Economy...you want the motor to be as warm as possible..some people even go so far as to block all openings on the front of the car to lock in the heat the motor creates
