Have you even sat inside a Civic in person? Go to your nearest dealer and sit in one. I had my doubts about the Civic, too, until I actually went to my local dealer and actually sat in one. I was very impressed! The materials are better grade than you would expect in a Civic and IMO, far better than the materials used in the tC. Once in the driver's seat, you'll notice how everything is thoughtfully placed (except for maybe that damned emergency brake handle lol).
And for the record, when I went to the dealership to check out the Civic for the first time I sat in an LX coupe. I ended up buying an EX sedan.
