In fact, there is mention of few specific "species" of animals in the Bible. Does that mean that those other animals didn't exist.
As far a geology, the entire science is based on many assumptions. They use a column theory to date things like fossils based on the assumptions that it took so many millions of years to form those rocks. They then use carbon dating or other radioactive element dating to find the age of things. This method is based on the assumptions of half-life, consistency in the rate of decay, and quantity of the radioactive element at the beginning of decay. Different groups of people will get different ages for things by using carbon dating. In order to arrive at an answer they go back to their column dating theory as use the number that they got that was the closest to that.
Similarities in species does not prove evolution in any way. All of these animals that we are talking about came from the same place (either way you look at it). Why would they be 100% different.

My god where did you guys go to school so I know where NOT to send my kids.
Here's ONE OF MANY papers published on observed evolution in a lab (yes, using the scientific method)
