Awesome help!

To everyone who posted this info, Thanks! This is awesome info!

I got a shiny new iPod Touch for Christmas and was using an FM transmitter (which pretty much sux when you live in SoCal since there are very few open frequencies) until I came across this info. Of course, I have a 06 Civic LX so I had no Aux port. But I do now!

I used a 3.5mm M-F extension cable for my cable between the console and the Aux connector. I connected the female end of the cable to the aux port in the car and the male end of the cable to the new jack in the console. Now if I need to remove the console for some reason I just unplug the connector under the console and it can be easily removed.

All told this cost me about $20, and that included the cost of buying a soldering iron and solder. WAY cheaper than paying Honda to do this. And using the little Radio Shack plug I was able to mount the aux jack just above and between the shifter and the parking brake.

Now I'm off to Fry's to find a right-angle 3.5mm cable.
